Blood from stubbed toes scrapes and other minor cuts can leave small but noticeable stains on your carpet. Do not rub as this might increase the blood stain. Repeat until the stain disappears then sponge the spot with cold water and blot dry. You can for instance use kitchen paper towels to gently dap the blood stain.

Also hot water is a most definite no when it comes to getting blood out of a carpet.
