Once the alcohol has soaked for a minute take a clean rag and begin blotting more ink from the stain. Keep blotting for 30 minutes so the alcohol has time to dissolve the ink. Once the area is stain free dab the area with a towel dipped in lukewarm water. Then lightly blot the stain using a white cloth.

It will bring the particles of ink up. Repeat this process a few times. To remove ink from carpet wet a clean cloth with rubbing alcohol and gently blot the stain. Touching the fiber might further grind in the ink then apply a spot remover or carpet cleaner with foaming action to lift up.

The alcohol will penetrate the stain but it can also go deeper and harm the padding under the carpet if you are not careful. Blot everything and repeat the procedure again. Once you begin to lightly blot the ink stain from the carpet you should start to see the color transfer onto the towel. Apply enough to cover the stain and allow it to soak down about half an inch.

When the ink is gone rinse your carpet with a warm water vinegar solution to prevent damage from the alcohol.
